Canyon Montmin : 2 versions with different levels of difficulty

very challenging
or discovery version

In terms of canyoning in Annecy, we offer you the Montmin canyon with 2 versions of varying difficulty. A very challenging version and a discovery version.

Montmin canyon : very challenging version

Canyon Montmin
very challenging

To start with, we’re offering a very challenging canyoning for adults and children aged 14 and over who are in VERY good physical condition. The ‘high’ and then the ‘lower’ sections of the Montmin canyon represent a descent of around 3h to 3h30. The Montmin canyon is also colder than the Angon canyon. As a result, the speed of the descent has a direct impact on the enjoyment of the outing. That said, running isn’t the aim either. But if you’re not too sure of yourself or if you’re more of a chilly type, it’s best to opt for the discovery version.

Montmin canyon : discovery version

Canyon Montmin
discovery

We also offer a discovery canyoning trip for adults and children aged 12 and over who are in good physical condition. It’s a shorter descent but still a lot of fun, with optional jumps and slides. There is also some walking and compulsory abseils not exceeding 15 metres. The ‘lower’ part is a little more technical than the ‘upper’ part of the canyon. But in short, whether you descend the ‘high’ or the ‘lower’ part, the Montmin discovery canyon is an excellent introduction to canyoning. Whether you do one or the other, you should allow 2h30 for the trip. The guide makes the final decision, depending on the number of people, the weather and the group’s level of fitness.

In conclusion, these two versions of the Montmin canyon are both aquatic and fun, with abseils and abseiling compulsory. There are also optional jumps and slides, as well as an approach and return walk. These two canyoning descents require a minimum level of physical fitness and a desire to push yourself. They are both made up of a good range of what you can find in a canyoning descent. These are great canyoning trips in a wild and green environment.

Canyoning outdoor activity

First of all, canyoning is an outdoor sporting activity with no need for a boat. It involves walking, swimming and crossing obstacles in different ways, either by jumping, sliding, abseiling. It is therefore essential to know how to swim.

Secondly, the approach, descent and return times are given as a guide only, and may vary according to weather conditions, how often the canyon is used and the level of the group.

Please note that canyoning is not recommended for people who are sensitive to vertigo or have weak backs. So please, don’t force anyone to come. It is OBLIGATORY to inform us of any physical or mental handicap when you make your reservation, just as it is required to inform the guide before your departure in canyon.
