Canyon Angon : 2 versions with different levels of difficulty

Very challenging or
d
iscovery version

In terms of canyoning in Annecy, we offer you the Angon canyon with its 2 versions of varying difficulty.

Firstly, a very challenging canyoning trip open to adults and children aged 14 and over in VERY good physical condition. A technical descent, it also includes some vertiginous abseils. In addition, the sequence of the “high” part and then the “low” part of the canyon also represents a very sporty canyoning descent lasting around 3h to 3h30.

Secondly, a discovery canyoning trip open to adults and children aged 12 and over in good physical condition. The descent is less vertiginous, but still technical, with 3 abseils, one of which is around twenty metres long. It takes around 2h30 to descend the “lowe” part of the Angon canyon.

Both versions of the Angon canyon are aquatic and fun. There are also optional jumps and slides, as well as an approach and return walk. Note that abseiling is compulsory in the Angon canyon.

Angon canyon : “upper” and “lower” sections

“Upper” and
“lower” parts

As far as canyoning in Annecy is concerned, the Angon canyon is also one of the most beautiful canyons in Haute-Savoie.

The first part of the canyon, known as the “high” part, is much more technical and vertiginous. The descent begins directly with a 30-metre vertical abseil into the Angon waterfall. This is followed by a 25-metre spider abseil (abseiling into the void without touching the wall). It is therefore strongly recommended that you have already abseiled and are not prone to vertigo. The approach is also more demanding.

The second part of the canyon, known as the “lower” section, is more accessible. It does, however, include some compulsory abseils of around twenty metres. It’s also a descent that requires a minimum of physical fitness and a desire to push yourself.

In conclusion, on both the ‘high’ and ‘low’ sections, you’ll find yourself in beautiful narrow passages carved out of the limestone rock and in a wild, green environment. Situated on the shores of Lake Annecy, the Angon canyon makes a great technical, fun and varied canyoning trip.

Canyoning outdoor activity

First of all, canyoning is an outdoor sporting activity with no need for a boat. It involves walking, swimming and crossing obstacles in different ways, either by jumping, sliding, abseiling. It is therefore essential to know how to swim.

Secondly, the approach, descent and return times are given as a guide only, and may vary according to weather conditions, how often the canyon is used and the level of the group.

Please note that canyoning is not recommended for people who are sensitive to vertigo or have weak backs. So please, don’t force anyone to come. It is OBLIGATORY to inform us of any physical or mental handicap when you make your reservation, just as it is required to inform the guide before your departure in canyon.
