We propose a half-day discovery canyoning trip to the Angon canyon in Annecy. This canyon is located on the shores of Lake Annecy in Haute-Savoie. The Angon discovery canyon is also technical, with abseiling down 3 waterfalls, one of which is 20 metres high.

The Angon canyon discovery is located in Annecy above the village of Angon in the commune of Talloires Montmin. This canyon is also located in Haute-Savoie, on the shores of Lake Annecy and 30 minutes from Albertville.
The discovery version of the Angon canyon is lighter than the very challenging version. However, it is still a canyoning descent with compulsory abseils and optional jumps and slides. Tis canyoning is open to adults and children aged 12 and over. However, you’ll need to be sporty and keen on outdoor activities.
Description of the Angon canyon discovery
Angon discovery
First there’s an approach walk of around 30 minutes, winding upwards for 100m of ascent. Then you follow the path up the side of the mountain to the canyon. The start is located at a passage known as “the letter box”.
The “letter box” passage is optional. You have to pass through a hole where you can make a controlled slide. Then you arrive in a small, beautiful narrow passage. You then descend the canyon, which is made up of 3 obligatory abseils (the highest of which is around twenty metres high). These abseils are interspersed with walks, jumps and optional slides.
Finally, there’s a 15-minute walk back along a path that leads up and then back down to the car park.
In conclusion, the discovery descent of the Angon canyon is a great introduction to canyoning. Technical and fun, it is nevertheless a descent that requires a minimum of physical fitness as well as a certain desire to surpass oneself. It also features a fine range of canyoning techniques, including the approach and return sections. All in all, the Angon Discovery canyon is a wonderful adventure in a wild and verdant environment.

Canyoning outdoor activity
First of all, canyoning is an outdoor sporting activity with no need for a boat. It involves walking, swimming and crossing obstacles in different ways, either by jumping, sliding, abseiling. It is therefore essential to know how to swim.
Secondly, the approach, descent and return times are given as a guide only, and may vary according to weather conditions, how often the canyon is used and the level of the group.
Please note that canyoning is not recommended for people who are sensitive to vertigo or have weak backs. So please, don’t force anyone to come. It is OBLIGATORY to inform us of any physical or mental handicap when you make your reservation, just as it is required to inform the guide before your departure in canyon.
