Canyon Angon
The Angon canyon is located above the village of Angon in the commune of Talloires Montmin. This canyon is located in Haute-Savoie on the shores of Lake Annecy, 30 minutes from Albertville.
The “discovery’ version” of the Angon canyon is lighter than the sporty version but still a canyoning descent with compulsory abseiling with jumps and slides optional. This canyoning experience is open to adults and children aged 12 and over, with a taste for adventure and outdoor activities.
Description of the Angon “discovery” canyoning
Angon “discovery”
First of all, there’s an approach walk lasting around 30 minutes, which winds its way up 100m and then follows the side of the mountain all the way to the canyon. The start is located in a passageway known as “the letterbox”.
The “letterbox” passage is an optional passage in a hole where you can make a controlled slide that leads to a small, beautiful narrow passage. This is followed by a canyon descent consisting of 3 beautiful abseils (the highest of which is around twenty metres high) interspersed withwalk and optional slides and jumps.
We finish with a return walk of around 15 minutes along a path that climbs back up and then descends again to the car park.
In conclusion, the descent of the “discovery” Angon canyon is an excellent technical introduction to canyoning. It’s fun, but it’s a descent that requires a minimum of physical fitness and a desire to push yourself. It includes a wide range of features found in a classic canyoning descent, including the approach and return sections. It’s a great canyoning adventure in a wild, green environment.

Canyoning outdoor activity
First of all, canyoning is an outdoor sporting activity with no need for a boat. It involves walking, swimming and crossing obstacles in different ways, either by jumping, sliding, abseiling. It is therefore essential to know how to swim.
Secondly, the approach, descent and return times are given as a guide only, and may vary according to weather conditions, how often the canyon is used and the level of the group.
Please note that canyoning is not recommended for people who are sensitive to vertigo or have weak backs. So please, don’t force anyone to come. It is OBLIGATORY to inform us of any physical or mental handicap when you make your reservation, just as it is required to inform the guide before your departure in canyon.
