Canyoning in Annecy : Angon waterfall and canyon “very sporty” or “discovery” option
Annecy canyoning Angon “very sporty” or “discovery” option
We offer canyoning on the banks of Lake Annecy with the Angon waterfall and canyon.
The Angon canyon is located above the village of Angon in Talloires Montmin. This canyon is located in Haute-Savoie near Annecy and 30 minutes from Albertville.
You can choose between 2 different canyoning options on the same river :
Either a “very sporty option” of canyoning, open to adults and children aged 14 and over in VERY good physical condition, for a total duration of between three and three and a half hours. This is a combination of the “high” and “low” parts of the canyon.
Or a “discovery option” canyoning trip open to adults and children aged 12 and over in good physical condition, lasting around 2 and a half hours. This is the descent of the “lower” part of the canyon.
These two versions of the Angon canyon are both aquatic and fun, with compulsory abseils, optional jumps and slides, as well as an approach and return walk.
The first part of the canyon, known as the “high section”, is much more technical and vertiginous. The descent begins directly with a 30-metre vertical abseil into the Angon waterfall. This is followed by a 25-metre spider abseil (abseiling into the void without touching the wall). It is strongly recommended that you have already abseiled and are not prone to vertigo. The approach to the canyon is also more demanding.
The second part of the canyon, known as the “lower section”, is more accessible. It does, however, involve compulsory abseils of around twenty metres, and is a descent that requires a degree of physical fitness as well as a certain desire to push oneself.
In both the “high” and “low” sections, you’ll find yourself in a wild and lush setting, with beautiful narrow passages carved out of the limestone on the shores of Lake Annecy. The Angon canyon is a beautiful canyon and a great technical, fun and varied canyoning trip.

Canyoning outdoor activity
First of all, canyoning is an outdoor sporting activity with no need for a boat. It involves walking, swimming and crossing obstacles in different ways, either by jumping, sliding, abseiling. It is therefore essential to know how to swim.
Secondly, the approach, descent and return times are given as a guide only, and may vary according to weather conditions, how often the canyon is used and the level of the group.
Please note that canyoning is not recommended for people who are sensitive to vertigo or have weak backs. So please, don’t force anyone to come. It is OBLIGATORY to inform us of any physical or mental handicap when you make your reservation, just as it is required to inform the guide before your departure in canyon.
